ADDD Group Project

This project was a group project revolving around the ADDD AEC(Arcitectual engineering construction) marketplace

My colleagues work

Here are some of the software i tried out for the CAD reserch of the project

AutoCAD:

here i got my plans from google images of the design of guitar i wanted to make and then used the canvas tool and reduced the opacity so i could use it as a template.

simply using the spline tool i then drew out the first outline of the guitar.

again i used the spline tool to trace the inner line of the guitar.

here are both line together.

i then copied the first spline and then raised it upwards of the desired amount whichh i then planned to use the loft tool in order to create a solid object.

I then did the same for the other line.

This is after i used the loft tool on one of the lines.

Unfortunately i was unable to loft the rest of the drawing. This was because when i used the spline tool each bend is its own seperate line even when converted to a polyline, this meant that the software AutoCAD would try and loft hundreds of lines at once which caused crashes.

My plan was to then used the press pull tool to make the lines meet then i would have used the combine tool to make them all one shape which woould then give me the main body of the guitar complete.

SolidWorks:

Here i drew out some basic box measuments for the lengths of the curves i would be creating. I again like before got all the model designs from the internet.

I then used the guide lines presiously drawn and the arc tool to make a basic shape for my guitars body

After using the cut tool on the upper right of the model to get the cut away section i also removed all the un-needed lines and then i used the extrude tool to make the shape 3D.

I then added colour purly for athsetic reasons. And i created another shape ontop of the body and used the filet tool in order to make the shape flat this was to give the guitar some definition and add to the complexity of the design.

Before creating the final body render i created a cut in the top of the body so the neck could later be design and fitted.

Fusion360:

Using the same guide as for autoCAD i used the canvas tool and reduced opacity to make an outline.

I then used the spline tool ot trace the drawing.

I then continued tracing the pick guard.

I also traced more of the outline of the guitar.

I then extruded the main outline of the model to the desired high.

I also extruded the other line drawn. These lines give the guitar some defintion and add more curves making the degin look more appealing and it allows me to test the software more.
