Exploring the Design of Everyday Things, can they be improved
for this project i eas tasked with redesigning and existing product to make it better and improves its functionallity.
i first began by making the circle with the correct diameter
i then created a smaller circle and used the sweep tool on the previously drawn circle to make a lip for the case.
i then made more cirles are diffrent heights
and i then used the loft tool and copied the rim at the bottom and put it ontop of the design.
i then used the shell tool and excluded the top face to make an empty space so it was more of a tin shape.
I then used the presspull tool to extend the top faceto make the second haf of the bottom of the case.
i then used the sweep tool like before to make a lip on top.
i then used the shell tool as before to hollow out the shape.
i then started to create the top of the case. i created a circle and then i made a hexagon inscribed around the circle. i then used the trim tool to remove all un-needed side of the hexagon.
i then mirrored the surviving side of the hexagon around its self and removed the original.
i then used the polar array tool to make 5 copies of my shape, and moved them all closer to the edge.
i the used the trim tool to remove the unwanted lines.
i then recreated a circle and extruded the previous shape.
i then extruded and substracted the two shapes.
i then used a presspull on top of the model and used the filet tool around the rim.
i then used the shell tool to hollow out the insides as before.
i then moved the two models into position. and this was complete.
i then added the branding with the material mapping tool and changed model material to aluminium.
