For this task i had to create a dynamic block using the new skills i had just learnt.
Firstly i began by creating a cross with construction lines so i could build a guidence layer.
I then created 3 circles along one of the construction lines.
I then used the offset tool multiple times to crete more guidence lines to help me later.
I then used the trim tool to remove lines i didnt need.
After removing some of the unwanted lines there was a small arc left at the top of the design. i used the polar array tool to duplicate the arc around the shape.
Using the construction lines as guidence i created another arc on both side of one of the shapes i made using the polar array.
I again removed all the unwanted lines.
I then used the fillet tool on the areas where the arcs met the polar array to create the shape for one of the teeth on the gear.
I then used the polar array tool again to make the teeth go around the gear.
After using the polar array tool there was a small gap between each of the teeth, therefore i used the blend curve tool to fill in the gap , i then double clicked and changed the new blended arc into a polyline.
I then used the polar array tool again to copy my last step over to every tooth.
I then created more circles in the center of the gear and a rectangle.
I then trimed all the unwanted lines and i was done.
I then copied one of the gears teeth and the center of the gear.
After copying i used the polar array to create more teeth but i used less teeth than i did for the first gear. I also used the blend curve tool where needed. i then repated this step to create the gears seen in the screenshot.
I then opened the blocked editor and used the visibility parameter.I had to stack each gear so they all had the same base point. I then created 7 diffrent visibility stages and removed all but one gear for each to end up with the final product.
I then saved the gear and now it works and the number of teeth can be changed easily.
