For this project i was tasked to make a flange and spigot by following a set of instructions.
I started by using the line tool to create a basic outline of what the base of the design would look like. I also create a new layer called draft which is the red dashed line and this is used as a guidence layer.
I then created my guide lines and then used the fillet tool to round the edges of the shape.
Then in a seperate area i created this shape with the draft layer. This shape will be used to guide a series of arcs and lines that will then be revolved around the base to create the base shape.
I then created the lines and arcs along the draft layer to get the desired shape.
I then rotated the new shape 90 ° along the Y axis and then moved the corner to the base of the square as seen.
I then used the revolve tool to make the base.
I then used the extract edges tool to select the rim of the inner side of the base, i used the copy tool and copied the edge to the outside. i then extruded the edge to the same height at the base.
I then moved all of the parts of the base together to complete the base of the toilet roll holder.
I then reactivated the draft layer and added some new lines to benifit me later.
In a seperate area i then created some draft lines and a new shape which would be part of the toilet roller holder. The draft layer was there so i could get the arc correct in a simpler way.
I then extruded and moved the new shape. All i had to do was move it to the marked out space created by my draft lines.
I then created the path for the handle using the polyline tool, i also used the fillet tool to get the round edges.
I then moved the path to the correct position.
I then create a circle and used the sweep tool along the path to finish the design.
